Elementary ​School

  • iD Tech Summer Programs | Application Open Mid-November $$

    • iD Tech is a STEM enrichment program that hosts summer programs, academic programs, and private lessons

    • Topics include coding, game development, robotics, creative arts, and math

    • Residential and Day Camp on-campus STEM tech summer programs for ages 7-18 years old

  • Berkeley Business Academy for Youth (BBAY) | Application for 2024 Cycle Now Open

    • B-BAY is a business academy that offers hands-on experience in entrepreneurship. In two weeks, you will learn the process of creating, operating, and eventually winding down your own business

    • Program dates: June 10- June 21, 2024 

    • Program Cost: California Residents – $3,500 and Out of State – $4,000

  • Girls in Engineering Summer Camp | Application Cycle for 2024 Dates Not Available 

    • Week-long event on UC Berkeley’s campus

    • Features hands-on activities, design challenges, and lab tours

    • Led by Berkeley faculty, industry engineers, and student camp counselors

    • Aims to spark curiosity and showcase opportunities in engineering and STEM fields

    • Full scholarships are automatically granted if your family qualifies for a government assistance program, including:*

      • CalWORKS

      • CalFresh

      • Medi-Cal

High School

  • Mentoring In Medicine & Science | Application Opens: Early January

    • Four-week Summer Internship Program

    • Offers hands-on clinical experience 

    • Includes shadowing health professionals in diverse patient care settings. Shadowing professionals performing duties like splinting, suturing, phlebotomy and EKG

    • Focuses on life coaching and career development 

    • Features professional development workshops including resume and application workshops 

    • Eligibility Requirements:

      • Be at least a 10th grader in high school, an undergraduate or post-graduate student 

      • Be from a population/group that is underrepresented in the health professions

      • Have an interest in pursuing a career in health

      • Be available to participate full-time for the duration of the 4-week program

      • No minimum GPA requirement

  • California State Summer School for Mathematics and Science (COSMOS) | Application Opens 1/24/24 at 8 AM | Closes 2/9/24 at 11:59 PM $$

    • COSMOS is a rigorous four-week summer residential Pre-College Program designed for high school students with talent and interest in pursuing academic and professional paths in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields.

    • 4 campuses to choose from:

      • UC Davis 

      • UC Santa Cruz 

      • UC Irvine 

      • UC San Diego 

    • Only available for California residents

    • Scholarships may be available 

  • Summer Math and Science Honors (SMASH) | Applications for 2024 Cycle Now Open $$

    • A free 3-year intensive STEM-focused college prep program

    • Empowers students to pursue STEM careers

    • Includes tuition-free summer studies with leading universities

    • Eligibility Requirements:

      • Must have a minimum 9th grade 3.0 GPA or equivalent. 

      • Grade Level: Be in the 9th grade at the time of application.

      • Math Skills: Have strong mathematics skills appropriate for your grade level, as determined by your state-standardized math test scores.

      • Attend a public high school or private high school via scholarship.

      • Location: Reside in the United States within 50 miles of a SMASH site as determined by your zip code.

    • Technology program for girls where participants will get exposure to tech jobs, meet leaders in tech careers and gain computer science skills

    • 2-week and 6-week programs available 

    • $300 need-based scholarship for Summer Immersion program
